Whimsy ~ Love and Loss

It seems today is the day to talk about love and loss. I have a sad creation to share with you, that I've created with an absolutely BEAUTIFUL stamp set from Whimsy Stamps called Sympathy So Deeply Sorry. This set was born from love and loss and utter heartbreak. Every sentiment speaks love and recognises the heartache of loss so beautifully. I am both in awe and utterly flawed by this set. I know these feelings, this ache of loss too well and next month, it will be 20 years, (20 YEARS!) since my beautiful daddy passed away. There is such deep heartbreak still from that loss. I ache that my lovely daddy never met my sweet babies. He would have loved them! He never got to walk my younger sisters down the aisle, he has missed so much love and joy in our family and I am so SO grateful that my precious Mummy is alive and well and totally owning this thing called 'life'!

I wanted to keep the design very CAS. I layered up a lovely raspberry red cardstock which I added some subtle design to with a lovely plaid stamp and some embossing ink. I didn't add embossing powder, just let the ink dry for a very subtle effect.

The beautiful image is from that same Whimsy sentiment set, it's just so pretty and so perfect to express grief and heartache in an elegant and simple way. I created this card for a sweet friend who has just lost her mama. So I chose the sentiment carefully. There are so many in this set that could have worked, but this really resonated for me.

I opted for a brown shade on the stems and shoots rather than green with this red bloom. I just thought this more muted sombre tone lent itself so well to the occasion and I have to say I really love how it turned out.

A simple doily to finish behind the image panel and more dimension popping up the image, was all this card needed, though I did sneak in 3 tiny pearls in red, not too flashy, but a little subtle embellishment to finish.

Thanks for popping in to visit today. I send you hugs and love for those of you whose loss may be more recent and for those of you that loss hasn't yet touched, I pray it doesn't for some time yet. Hugs to you all xoxo

A beautiful, elegant and "perfect for the occasion" card Wends. DH missed his youngest grandchild - which made for a bittersweet time for the family, but she had bought so much joy to us...
Stay safe
