Whimsy Stamps ~ The Elves are in the House!

Hey friends, we've had several years of 'Elf on the Shelf' in our house in the lead up to Christmas and it's been fun giving them little poses and mischievous scenes, so elves have a place in my heart at Christmas! I was beyond excited to see Crissy's super cute set featuring three absolutely adorable elves! I've created for Christmas sporadically through the year, but this is the beginning of my big push to be ready for this Christmas and I'm delighted with the sweet cards to add to the pile featuring these absolute cuties! That's a niece and nephew sorted! As promised, here is the second of my two cards featuring these cute elves.

Isn't he a cutie?! I used a fun background stamp from Whimsy to create that candy cane stripe swirl background, and found a lovely swirly Christmas sentiment to go with it from a cool clear stamp set of Whimsy's. The snowflake is an extra from a beautiful large snowflake swirl which I've used previous years to create some lovely elegant Christmas cards, I'll be pulling it out again this year too! It was a left over from a previous creation and so perfect to finish this card. It's cut from white glitter foam cardstock. I had the large gem in my stash from a Mother's Day pressie from the kids some time ago. I've not much cause to use really big gems like this, but it was the perfect size to finish the centre of that snowflake.

I used some sparkly 'Christmas Magic' Washi Tape to add a little extra interest to the card in a lovely gunmetal grey tone from Tonic Studios Craft Perfect Range. This Washi Tape is part of their All That Glitters Collection. Then I added that sweet elf, which this time I coloured with Copic Markers. There's a reason I favour them so much, I just LOVE the rich colour you get with alcohol markers, Copic, Promarkers etc, they just give such rich colour and blend so beautifully! So I love how this cutie turned out in his red and teal hues. I'll have to find a minute to do a wee video to capture the sparkle, which I'll share on my IG page. Thanks for popping in to visit today and for leaving me your thoughts on this creation. I love reading them.

Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo

That's a fabulous card Wends and the stamp really captures the cheekiness of those little characters. Mollie has a visit from " Elf on the Shelf" each year and was found one morning last December hang gliding down the stairs in a pair of her pants!! xx
