Whimsy Stamps ~ Wicked Cute Fun

Hey crafty friends, I'm back today with some wicked cute fun using the other little kiddo from the Wicked Cute stamp set released back in September. These kiddos are the cutest little trick or treaters and I've had this little guy coloured and diecut since I did my first card featuring the wee girlie from that set. He's patiently waited in the wings for his debut, so here he finally is. I did a very red alcohol ink background which hubby suggested looked very 'hellish' like an inferno, which I thought was fitting for this lil' devil dude.

I mounted the alcohol ink panel onto foam and then onto a black card base which I trimmed with my Tim Holtz Tonic Deckle Edged Trimmer for a bit of interest. I added the cute character popped up on foam, which was diecut using the matching outline die from Whimsy. I then added a pile of spooky hellish pumpkins as if they were taunting spirits (this is about as scary as I get!) and a couple suspended from the Goosebumps word which I diecut from Idea-ology Tim Holtz Deco Sheets in antique silver glitter paper. I used some silver foil in the alcohol ink process, so thought it was fun to use the silver glitter paper for the sentiment to match.

I coloured this trick or treating cutie in with Copic Markers and then added a few white highlights, something I've always admired other crafters doing, but had no confidence to do myself until recently. I watched a live where Amy Rysavy said she just wings it, no rhyme or reason or light source rationale, just put them where it feels right. A very freeing moment for me, as I'd clearly been overthinking things! So I've added them where it feels right. Not perfect, but I'm sure I'll get better with practice!

I think these little mini jacks completed this design so perfectly, I really didn't want to add anything else! The two suspended from the sentiment were a fun whimsical touch, especially with one of them swinging jauntily to the side, so it was actually a quick make once all the elements were pulled together.

It's been a whirlwind few months in the lead up to Halloween, I've been crafting up a storm, now I just need to get my posts blogged and shared. The wonderful Halloweeners Team, plus a few of my lovely Treasures teamies will be sharing our final makes for Halloween in an Instagram Hop that will feature our amazing Whimsy Halloween Range paired with some fabulous embellishments from This Calls For Confetti who are sponsoring our hop. I'm so excited, it will be a fun culmination of all our hard work over these past few months. Hard to believe it will be at an end in just over a week! I hope you'll join us for that fun event. I'll share more closer to the time. Thanks for popping in to visit me today. I'll be back soon with another Halloween adventure! Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo
