Whimsy Stamps ~ Love and Christmas Cookies

Hey friends, I'm back again with the next instalment using the New Release elements from Whimsy Stamps. I so loved using the pink plaid on the previous make I shared, that I went all out with plaid on these creations. I've made a few tags for topping Christmas gifts and I've got a plan in place now that they'll accompany some special Christmas treats for family, so I'm delighted! That's some of my Christmas shopping sorted!

I used the fabulous Pink Plaids Paper Pack from Whimsy again for these tags. I chose four different plaids and matched them to the cookie I thought worked best with each plaid. Honestly, they could work with any of them, but I did take my time trying out each one and finally settled on the combinations I liked best. I used the largest of the Slimline Tags Dies to cut the plaid tags and the matching eyelets, then switched to the smaller tag die to cut the image panels.

I stamped the Christmas cookies with a lighter Copic friendly ink initially, coloured them with my Copic Markers then stamped over them again with VersaFine Sepia to add some depth and definition to the cookies. I really love how this looks. I didn't want to use black ink, as I wanted a softer finish and I think it works so well for the cookies. Keeping with that theme, I chose to do the sentiments also in the Sepia VersaFine ink and I distressed the edges of the tags with some Walnut Stain Ink to give them a rustic finish.

All the cookie elements are popped up on foam rounds to give them a little depth and interest on the tags. The matching eyelets were glued in place with liquid glue before adding the ribbon and twine details.

I didn't want to give Rudolph a red nose since the rest of the design was all in pinks, so used a nice dark pink to colour his nose, which I think works fine for these tags. I've used similar colours in all the colouring, the berries for instance are the same colour as Rudolphs nose, as are Mama Claus' lips.

I used some glitter pen for some of the details on the images, Mama Claus' glasses and hair band were done with glitter pens as were the tiny bows on the gingerbread men and their raison buttons. Little details but they look so good when the light catches them. I've a reel on Instagram showing these sparkly details. If you do pop over, turn on the sound, because I found the cutest song to accompany this make!

My talented teamies have created some adorable creations with this stamp set, so be sure to go check out their cute makes in the store, you can click through on the banner above to the New Release to see these. Thanks for popping in to visit me today. I'll be back soon with another crafty adventure perhaps even a Halloween one! Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo

Such pretty tags Wends, and great work matching the plaids to the image colours. These look amazing and I am sure they will be appreciated.
I love stamping in deep brown as it really softens the outlines of images.
