Spellbinders ~ Beveled Hello 3D Embossing Folder

Hello hello crafty friends, yes I'm back again with another crafty make and today, I'm sharing the lovely Beveled Hello A2 Card Front 3D Embossing Folder and the card I made with it. This is one of the fun new embossed card fronts available as part of the Beveled Sentiment A2 Cardfronts Collection from Spellbinders. I went for an elegant pared back design, which could really let this very 3D embossing take centre stage.

I inked up the side of the embossing folder that is flat to the touch, with the recessed part of the design, spritzed my paper with some water so it would emboss well and ran the cardstock through my Big Shot with the folder. I repeated the inking 3 times until I was happy I had good coverage with the ink. The ink I used for this was Victorian Velvet Oxide Ink. I wanted to add some colour to the panel, leaving the embossed feature white. The finish is not flawless, but a bit of white watercolour pencil helped mute where the colour bled a bit and splatter for the win to make it all come together.

I trimmed the panel with my Tim Holtz Deckle Edge Trimmer and added the cutest Poinsettia from the Holiday Label Motifs for a touch of holiday whimsy. I used a gorgeous Velvet Rose coloured cardstock from the Spellbinders Wildflower Assorted Paper Pack to diecut the Poinsettia from. The little leaves are from the Festive Ornament Etched Dies which are part of the Essential Holiday Collection by Lisa Horton. I'll share another make with this set soon, it's really lovely. I diecut the leaves from Gold Vellum for a subtle and elegant touch. I completed the card design with a touch of brown pearls from This Calls For Confetti. I used the tiniest ones from the set in the centre of the Poinsettia. I wanted a subtle finish that wouldn't detract from the embossing, but would give an elegant finish. So opted for the warm brown pearls. I added three in descending sizes in the top left corner to bring balance to the design. I matted the panel with some white cardstock which shows the deckled edge of the inked panel nicely and then added it to a Top folding card base, which I cut from the same Velvet Rose Cardstock that the Poinsettia is cut from, so it toned perfectly. I did run a bit of Vintage Photo ink on the poinsettia petals to bring out the embossed details.

I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)

such a beautiful card Wendy. Love the soft background colour and the splatters highlight the embossed sentiment perfectly.
