Sweet Stampin' ~ Transport Challenge

Hey crafty friends, I promised I'd pop in with the second card I shared for the Transport Challenge at Sweet Stampin' and here it is. A card I made for a very special 21 year old! I made this for my Nephew/Godson/No.1 Son when he turned 21. He is very much a part of our family, adopted by my other kiddies as their big brother and by us too! We have a special bond and it's really wonderful. So I wanted to create a very special card for his 21st. This card was actually made a couple of years ago, it's been waiting to be shared, because I hoped to snap a better pic of it. I'd only grabbed one very quickly before giving it him and well as I've now learned, there's not getting it back once it's given! So take your pics first peeps!

The stamp set I used for this card is one of my favourites for masculine cards. I think it's such a striking detailed image, that just the artist lines are quite breathtaking without any colouring needed. Whimsy has such a broad range of stamps, they really have something for everyone. The graphic rich design of this set I just love and I've seen some amazing colouring done using this set. But I wanted the striking line art and that vibey sepia tone finish to stand on its own. That train so reminds me of an Agatha Christie story! The era, the ambience of the piece. I just think it's fun. I also think it's a great stamp for young ones embarking on a journey or to mark a 21st when they have the world at their feet! The wonderful sentiment is from the same set. I used kraft cardstock for the base and some recycled corrugated cardboard for texture and interest behind it. I also used a gorgeous paper from my stash, I thought it was Maja Design Paper but can't spot it in their catalogue, so another brand it would seem, sorry not to have clearer detail. I did some tearing, scissor and inky distressing and I added some cool eyelets for interest and a diecut '21'. It was very well received too, which is always so nice when lots of love has gone into the creating! Love this kiddo a whole lot. I can't believe he's 23 now! Happy to finally find a moment to share this special make, even if I only have the one pic.

Thanks for popping in to visit friends. Be sure to check out my talented teamies creations from Sweet Stampin' too and come join our Transport challenge if you're able, we'd love to see what you're inspired to create! Have a wonderful day and happy crafting. Hugs, Wends xoxo

(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
