Whimsy Stamps ~ Spooky September!

Hey crafty friends, it's September!! Which brings my heart such joy because it's Halloween Eve all month long at Whimsy Stamps! We have our biggest Halloween release yet for 2024 and oh my heart, it is not one to miss, because there are SO many epic Halloween sets in this release!! Much to my surprise, late last night, I realised that my own stamp, was part of this release!! It had been set for release on the 15th with our next (very big and very fabulous) Halloween release, but the launch was brought forward to allow the special promotion with this stamp set to feature all September long! Just purchase $50 or more stamps, dies, stencils etc from Whimsy Stamps during September add this stamp set to your basket and it will be automatically discounted. You'll receive it for FREE with any purchase over $50. Just remember to add it to your basket! You can of course, also buy it separately if you're not planning a big purchase. Now let's move on to my first September creation for Whimsy Stamps. I've made a Twist and Pop card, so I'm actually sharing the 'inside' in this first pic.

I have pulled out a bunch of my much loved but much neglected Washi Tapes to create the card front and to decorate the top and bottom of the inside of the card. This Twist and Pop card design is such fun and really has the 'WOW' factor when you open it. I'll be sharing a reel soon over on Instagram that shows the card opening to reveal the pop up feature. Actually incredibly easy to make, but so eye catching and fun!

You can see with this card front, I've used lots of toning Washi Tapes to create the diagonal stripes for the front. I've added a black pumpkin diecut, which was a good choice of colour, as there is so much going on with the Washi Tapes, the black helps focus the eye and tone down some of the visual chaos, good chaos, but you know what I mean! I added an Eek Word Die from Whimsy with the shadow layer in burnt orange glitter cardstock. This is a Simon Says Stamp Glitter Cardstock, I'm not sure it's exact name, if it even has a name attributed to it. But it's the darker of the oranges, there's also a bright orange in the set. I'll link below for quick reference. I had some left over hammered black cardstock on my desk from earlier makes, so cut the work from this and added it to the glitter shadow layer. This actually makes a pretty fun more CAS style card just as it is, but I really wanted to try this Twist and Pop card design, so I took it to the next level.

The feature panels in this Twist and Pop design are decorated with the brand new Grungy Ghosts Quick Card Fronts from Whimsy and I was so excited to have these arrive in time for me to create for the New Release! I think they look awesome popped up like this and I used two panels that matched well to create the four smaller scenes, making it look like it was one longer continuous scene, so fun! I wanted to add one of the sentiments from the Quick Card Fronts across the wooden gate, but when I tried them for size, they were all a little too long. So I stuck with the plain panels and the Happy Halloween that is on the Washi Tape to deliver my message. I don't have links for all the Washi Tapes I've used, as some I've had a long time, but I've listed most below in the thumbnails.

I hope you love this Halloween Release as much as we all do at Whimsy. I'm super excited to see all the fun and fabulous sets in this release and as I mentioned I am especially excited to have my very own poem (written by me 10 years ago) turned into a fabulous sentiment set by the very talented Deb Davis!! High five for an awesome collaboration. I could not be more thrilled with what Deb did to bring this poem to life as a sentiment stamp! For a limited time, you can get this poem stamp as a FREEBIE if you spend more than $50 on Whimsy Stamps physical products. It's not automatically added to your cart, you need to add it, but it will be automatically discounted once your cart reaches over $50. Let me know if you get the stamp, I'd love to see what you create with it! You're also able to purchase it separately, so whatever suits your budget.

I will have a make to share very soon with this fun poem and cannot wait to hear what you all think of it! September 1st is a sad day for me, as it is my Daddy's Birthday, he would have been 81 this year, it is also Father's Day here in New Zealand, so a double whammy! I had been out with my lovely Mumma today and arrived home to this fabulous news that my poem had launched early, so that brightened my day no end and very poignant for me, I'll not forget that launch date in a hurry! Thank you friends for popping in to check out my latest crafty adventure, I know you're not all as crazy about Halloween crafting as I am, so thanks for your indulgence if that's the case! There will be many more Halloween makes from me through September and October, but they'll be peppered with some other makes too, so I hope you'll stick around even if Halloween isn't your jam. Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo

(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
